Canalhouse, Published in ELLE Decoration

The historic building, located in the vicinity of the Scheepvaartmuseum and the NEMO science museum, is prominent in the streetscape of the Prins Hendrikkade. The rich history of this property is immediately reflected in the spacious hall with solid marble floors and richly decorated ceilings. A real ‘eye-catcher’ when entering the front room is a specially designed kitchen, positioned as a sideboard arrangement. Above the dining table hangs a special neon lighting fixture, designed by Maurice van Bakel, which floats in the meter-high richly painted ceiling. Various downstairs areas in the basement have been furnished as opulent, this time contemporary, period rooms.
