This transparent and bright apartment is located in the old town of Muiden, overlooking the harbor quay with historic inland boats. The clients’ wish was to realize an apartment that is as open and light as possible. The various living and lounge areas can be opened and closed as desired by means of built-in sliding doors, creating a game of openness and choice for intimacy. Storage cupboards and spaces have been integrated into the architecture, so that the space can be used as a clear course. The choice was made to produce materials and furniture components in white and gray tones. White ‘paper-like’ curtains and an ingenious, specially designed neon lighting system provide an atmospheric support for the spaciousness and serene tranquility.
