After designing several trade-fair stands for Active Video, Maurice van Bakel was commissioned to redesign the company’s headquarters in Hilversum. The new workspaces feature a custom-made cloud-patterned carpet, reflecting the company’s cloud TV services and creating the illusion that the furniture is floating. Enclosed meeting rooms with glass walls offer privacy through sound-absorbing textile panels and adjustable mood lighting. In addition, van Bakel transformed former office areas into open spaces with maximum ceiling height and all-white surfaces. For improved acoustics, translucent curtains cover the windows, and a large installation of sound-absorbing cylinders hangs from the ceiling, resembling a cloud.
