RSGA Design Museum
The RSGA Design Museum is an independent museum focused on designer chairs. The collection mainly contains modern and contemporary Dutch chairs with a special origin or unique story. In the factory where furniture is made every day, architect Maurice van Bakel transformed the old sawmill into a transparent exhibition space. The RSGA Design Museum displays the chair collection of RSGA founder Titus Darley. In addition to collecting contemporary design, he focuses on the heritage linked to the history of RSGA: furniture by Gerrit Rietveld, Spectrum, Gelderland and the lighting of Atelier Artiforte. The collection has three main themes: The Wall of Chairs shows chairs by Dutch designers or manufacturers. At the center of the room are special pieces by Gerrit Rietveld around a grid inspired by Rietveld’s Sonsbeek pavilion. A changing series of contemporary chairs can be seen under the collective name Contemporary Experimental.
